BEHIND THE ARTWORK
“Home, the familiar, comfort, inside, safe, homebodies at ease, memories. A fever dream of home, soft pastel colours of the houses and shops in Jamaica, the blues, the water, the green, brown skin at ease at home. I want to remember this.”
- Mekia Machine, 2021
“Now are the woods all black, but still the sky is blue."
- Marcel Proust Remembrance of Time Past, Volume I: Swann’s Way & Within a Budding Grove
Framed works are presented in a handmade wooden tray frame. We use an Obeche wood which is stained by hand and made to order, available in Dark Brown, White, Black or Lime Wash as shown in the image examples below. We are happy to hold up samples against your purchased painting and discuss which finish works best.
Please specify your colour preference in the order notes when placing your order.
Framing is 2 - 4 weeks as standard but please let us know if this is needed for a particular date and we will do our best to accommodate a faster turnaround for you. Alternative mouldings, frame style or size are available upon request, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.
Artwork shipping costs are calculated according to artwork size, framing and delivery location:
UK £50 / Europe £150 / Rest of World £250
