"This work features a hand-built theatre set framing a historical photograph of Henry Cyril Paget, the 5th Marquess of Anglesey (1875-1905). The composite was then exposed on to a hand-cut arch-shaped etching plate, each print is individually inked before going through the press. Henry Cyril Paget was an Edwardian peer, known for his love of glittering, lavish costumes and extravagant theatre performances. Paget converted his inherited family chapel into an ornate, 150 seat theatre, which he named the Gaiety, where he performed plays by Oscar Wilde – a bold move at the time since Wilde had been jailed for 'obscenity'."
